Latest finds

Found buried in an old warehouse in rural southeast Georgia, this portrait is amazing. The subject, style and original frame dates it probably around the 1940's. A very sensitive charcoal pastel and watercolor rendering of an interesting and lovely woman. Her expression is wonderful. A great example of southern vernacular art. Original frame was damaged, has been freshly matted and framed.

Love this vintage leather and chrome sling chair...instant chic!

Both The painting can be found at The Savvy Shopper! Chair is sold. And painting is sold.

A sense of place

L

Last night, opening reception for The Gertrude Herbert's A Sense of Place judged by Don Kimes. A beautifully varied yet connected presentation of current pieces that speaks to where we are but also where we have come from.

I am proud and excited to have been selected as part of this exhibit with Friday Night, a black and white photograph displayed in the main hallway of Ware's Folly.

Stopping, resting, turning

"Alone. She realized how much she had missed the luxury of solitude, and knew that its occasional comfort would always be essential to her...One was restored by solitude. Refreshed. She watched the doves, and hoped, just for the moment, that Loveday would not come searching for her. It was just that she needed time to reassemble and reorientate a personal sense of identity." Coming Home, Rosamunde Pilcher
